The annual Sport Ireland Nationwide Walking Event takes place on Saturday the 12th of January, run by the Local Sports Partnerships; in conjunction with Operation Transformation. These annual nationwide walks are a very important event in the promotion of healthy living and the pursuit of exercise and Cavan will host three Operation Transformation walks in Cootehill, Cavan and Kilnaleck.
