Women in Sport

Our ‘Women in Sport Initiative’ was developed in 2009 after the initiative was launched by the Irish Sports Council. The initiative sets out to address the findings, that the involvement of girls and women in sport and physical activity at school age and in adult life has tended to be much less than that of their male counterparts.

We have delivered a number of "Women in Sport" programme's at local level to raise physical activity levels among women and girl's participation in Sport, Exercise and Physical Activity.

Women in Sport Programmes supported and delivered to date:

Girls in Action (2008-2012)

Meet & Train (2010-present)

Workouts for Women (2010-2013)
