FAQs regarding ‘Your way to 5k’ Series.

Who covers insurance?
The facility must have public liability insurance however the programme is covered under Cavan Sports Partnership insurance.

How many can attend?
Current restrictions allow for 15 people including the coach however this may change depending on government announcement on Sept 13th.

Who is in charge of registration?
The host/club is completely responsible for the registration and limit on the number of attendees taken on a first come first served basis.

Who pays coach?
The €20 is a set fee per participant. It is completely down to the discretion of the club/ hosts how much the coach is paid, whether they get paid the full amount or the club take some funds for the use of the venue etc.

Does money stay within the Club/ Community?
Yes, as stated above it is down to the discretion of the club how much they pay the coach and how much the community/club get out of it.

What qualifications must the person hold to deliver this initiative?
Coaching qualification from athletics Ireland, fitness instructor, or have adequate skills/ experience in terms of managing groups and/ or an experienced runner themselves. All coaches however MUST register on the Cavan Sports Partnership database.

How does a coach register with CSP?
All coaches are required to sign a tutor agreement form and complete Garda vetting where appropriate which will be forwarded to them on acceptance of expression of interest.
