Active Cavan

This section of our website provides you with information about our school and community programmes and activities.  We work to create a supportive environment and to support the long term development of sport, exercise and physical activity in Cavan.

We do this by developing programmes and running events with and for communities which increase levels of sport, exercise and physical activity.  Also, by supporting and developing minority sports in schools; delivering programmes in both Primary and Secondary schools throughout the county.

We work to encourage collaboration amongst community groups and organisations to address the issues of inactivity and to promote health.

The focus of these programmes is to work with Sport Ireland recognised National Governing Bodies of sport, sports clubs and communities to identify areas at local level to target and increase participation.

Cavan Sports Partnership provides information, promotes and supports the National Governing Body, sports clubs, communities and clubs/schools to deliver the programmes at local level. The priority of these programmes is always participation.

The programme's are also supported where necessary, with equipment, training and education, resources, measurable development plans etc. which all support a more sustainable approach towards participation in these sports.

Cavan Sports Partnership aims to create more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get involved in sport at participation level.
